Maturing Canada Savings Bonds and Canada Premium Bonds
In light of the Government of Canada’s decision announced in March 2017, no new Canada Savings Bonds (CSBs) or Canada Premium Bonds (CPBs) will be issued as of November 1, 2017.
For certificated bond owners, once a certificated CSB or CPB matures, it no longer earns interest and should be redeemed by presenting the certificate at any financial institution in Canada.
For Payroll Savings Plan owners, bond series that have matured will no longer be reinvested and will automatically be paid out to the registered plan owner(s) by cheque or direct deposit.
Find the list of CSB and CPB series with their maturity dates at csb.gc.ca/rates.
All bond owners should validate their mailing address and/or banking information.
